Richard Bulaclac has three children, two of whom are engineering students and one still in high school. Ilao found out that Bulaclac is from Davao City and is now living alone here in Manila to work for his family.
On the first and last Mondays of the month, he offers free rides to his first passenger for the day. Bulavlac also tells a story about his passengers who left their valuable things inside his taxi and he was able to return it to the owner and gives him reward for his good heart and good intentions toward his passenger.
Meanwhile, Bulaclac is also collecting recyclable materials and create a wallet from it and sell it to her passengers.
“Maniningil ako ng doble sa pasaherong inosente para sa extrang kita? [Do I double the fare of my passengers just for extra income? I don’t.]” he said. “Hindi na ako taxi driver no’n. Magnanakaw na ako. Na may taxi. [Those who do that aren’t taxi drivers. They’re robbers. With taxis.]”
Ilao found out that Bulaclac was already featured by Saksi and some blog sites but she thinks that this honest driver needed to be known by the people and deserves to be more appreciated. So she insisted to post it on Facebook.
“Sa bansang umaapaw ng kontrobersya, at malapit nang maubusan ng tiwala ang lahat sa lahat, someone is trying to change the game. Kulang ang espasyo dito para ipaalam sa inyo kung gaano ka-inspiring ang buhay n’ya [In a country full of controversies and lack of trust, someone is trying to change the game. This post is not enough to let the public know how inspiring this man is],” she said.
Because of this realization, we can conclude that there are still people who has a good heart and doesn't have bad intentions towards their passenger and she's wishing that this kind of driver should serve as a role model to his fellow taxi drivers.
